Position Summary

Sells power transmission products to MRO and OEM customers direct and through Distributor Partners based in Chanhassen, MN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide world class service to your customer and team.
  • Receive customer inquiries by telephone, e-mail, electronically or fax.
  • Assist customers in product selection by providing technical product expertise.
  • Prepare accurate price quotes for customers.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customers, based on knowledge of IPTCI’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Accept customer purchase orders and creates corresponding sales orders.
  • Ability to discuss product using literature, catalogs, and website to articulate solutions, features, and benefits about product to customer. Mechanical background and/or mechanical aptitude are requirements of the role. Testing may be used to determine results.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Literacy

Ability to learn/use ERP system of IPTCI. Open, manipulate and save programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively internally and with external customers and plant partners.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and articulate solutions to internal associates and external customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee must have ability to lift upwards of 50lbs in weight.


As part of a rapidly growing company, the inside sales representative will sell mechanical power transmission products and bearings to MRO and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

There will be a 3-6 month training period of shadowing, learning, and hands on exposure to multiple departments of the organization, including but not limited to: Receiving, Quality, Rework, Pack/Pull/Ship, Engineering.
