Shaft Bushings and Weld-On Hubs

Shaft bushings are crucial components in industrial machinery, serving as protective guides that reduce friction and wear. Solve Industrial Motion Group shaft bushings and weld-on hubs are manufactured to MPTA standards, ensuring the durability and performance to meet your most demanding requirements.

All bushings interchange to industry standards and are stocked in inch and metric sizes.

QD Bushings

QD Bushings

QD bushings are designed for easy installation and removal, making them a popular choice for applications requiring frequent maintenance or adjustments. A QD bushing features a flanged design with a split through the flange and taper to provide a tight, lockable fit on the shaft. They are tightened onto the shaft using bolts that pass through the flange, ensuring a secure connection that can handle high torque and reduce slippage. QD Bushings can also be reverse mounted providing ease of installation in many space-constrained applications.

Tapered Bushings & DST Bushings

Solve carries both metric and inch bore tapered bushings, a standard global design, making them incredibly versatile. Their easy installation, concentric shaft fit, suitability for high speeds and heavy loads, along with an economical cost, make them the popular choice for both new designs and replacement needs. For applications with space constraints, their flush-mount design provides an ideal solution.

DST bushings, or double split tapered bushings, are a type of split bushing with a double split along its taper, enabling it to contract or expand for a snug fit around the shaft and inside the hub of the component it secures. The double split extends the entire length of the bushing, increasing its flexibility and making installation easier.

Weld-On Hubs

Weld-On Hubs are frequently used alongside plate type sprockets and conveyor pulleys to provide more shaft engagement. All Solve Weld-On Hubs are machined from steel and are available in 3 styles:

  • TB Bushed Weld-on Hubs are manufactured to accept tapered bushings. They are available in Type S, designed with a shorter bore length, and Type W, featuring a more distinct registration flange that aids in precise positioning and ensures concentric alignment for welding.
  • QD Bushed Weld-On Hubs are manufactured to accept a QD-style flanged bushing.
  • DST Bushed Weld-On Hubs use DST (Double Split Taper) style bushings. These bushings are designed with keyways that align and lock into place on both the shaft and the hub. The external key ensures a secure connection without applying force to the cap screws. DST bushings provide the highest torque carrying capability.
